Wrote this this morning while on the gym equipment. Above target BTW.

Black Out

Every time it is you and me…
Every single time…
I am completely out of my mind.
Everybody knows my heart-
The compassion-
The daily ventures to the Sermon on the Mount-
To bring back gifts.
But that was not enough for you- No-
You had to go and find the man behind the gifts-
And remind me- a man.
You should put a “High Voltage” sign on me-
Or “Keep back 300 feet.”
But you’re fearless. How?

So this idea-
Meet for a nice cup of coffee…
Yeah right-
And somebody asks, “How do you like it?”
Don’t say I didn’t warn you-
When the man answers-
“Hot.”
And any slightest chance at all-
I’ll have your clothes off so fast
It sets a new world record.
My gift will flood your live electronic circuitry-
And the short circuit will blow out
The North Eastern and Central power grids
Of the United States of America.
Sorry I narrowed it down.
Everybody will be screaming the question,
“What happened?”
Except you- you will be screaming my name-
And while everybody else tries to figure this out-
I won’t even try.
I’ll just know- I caused it.

A particularly striking poem. I like!
Talk about "Wall-socket sex"!
I like what you say about becoming the man inside and transcending yourself at the same time. Pretty cool John.
