Smile

Just one look, your picture taken.
I can feel my heart awaken-
Looking at those precious eyes-
Always takes me by surprise.

I can feel my whole life soften-
Need to look at you more often.
How you make me feel this way-
Is more than I can ever say.

All the time, I’m thinking of you-
Wishing, praying, know I love you-
Nothing I will ever see
Could be as beautiful to me.

Just one more, may Heaven guide you-
One of you, with me beside you-
But- till then, my precious dear-
I’m looking at your picture here.

I read this one on two levels, John. The first as if it's about your significant other who has gone away; the second as if directed to Jesus as the lover of your soul. Either way, it's a beautiful write...deep and meaningful on both levels. Thank you!

Love poetry unsurpassed, John. When the rhyme rhymes there is nothing quite like that method of telling a story of love, it just seems to flower within itself. Very good.
