If Ever

If ever- you were here with me-
This place of dreams called “Meant to be”
I’d stare forever in your eyes-
The only words to speak- “Surprise.”

It had to be- we dreamed this way-
And saw each other every day-
With every prayer, in every smile,
Your face was in my Heaven file.

If ever- now, the giddy grins-
Our time, our love, it all begins-
To breathe as if we just learned how-
To finally know we’ve got it now.

If ever- walking hand in hand-
Too good a dream, but just as planned,
I love you girl, it’s nothing new-
Just walking in a dream come true .

If ever, do we have to wait?
While time and pain just consecrate-
And make us need this even more,
I’m right here tapping at the door.

If ever- such a patient man-
Just holding all the love I can,
If ever? Always- love is yours,
It’s time to open up those doors.

If ever- we could just believe-
Like little kids on Christmas Eve,
I’d close my eyes and hold you tight-
Forever- when we get it right.
