If you can just imagine the night I wrote this...

Midnight Meeting

Restless night, such longing, yearning-
Almost fright, I’m tossing turning-
Heavy burdens haunt my heart-
So in love yet so apart.

Midnight missions, out of bed-
Visions flashing through my head-
Robe and slippers, must keep warm-
Feeling like I’m in a storm.

Living room, so silent, still-
Saunter to the window sill-
Moonlight glistens on the snow-
How to live- I miss you so.

Draw the curtains, stars above-
Shining down on all this love,
Yet the tears- I’m feeling blue.
All my heart is meant for you.

Sitting in the silence- staring-
You should be beside me…sharing-
Every moment, not just this…
Shut my eyes and dream a kiss.

Suddenly, the pounding, beating-
Of our hearts that need this meeting-
Stilled as in the peace of death-
Loving you is every breath.

Once we know- with time revealing…
There is love, there will be healing.
Sure as life is meant to be-
Someday you’ll be here with me.
