You Again

The wind just blows that certain way
It often has before
And what was just another day
Has something more in store.

I get that grin I sometimes do
That could become a tear
Whenever I remember you
The pictures just appear.

And every time, so beautiful
I lose my breath again.
Me- the one so dutiful,
Just tell it to my pen.

Another poem, you somehow give-
And I don’t see a choice.
The way a certain kind must live,
The heart becomes a voice.

“It’s you again” I tell myself,
But I already know.
An open book on every shelf,
There’s no safe place to go.

I close my eyes and let it be,
The sweetest love of all.
The strangest thing inside of me
That story of the fall.

I’m not the only one by far
Who lost and cried out why-
But with my glimpse of who you are-
A love that will not die.

It’s you again, I’ll take a breath
And hold it like a prayer-
And love you all the way to death
With still so much to spare.
