For Sail

I’d like to build a sailing ship and set out from the bay
To bring you far from all that ever took your smile away.
To sunny skies and laughing seas and stars that make life still-
I want to give you all of this, just let me and I will.

It’s always been a dream of mine and dreamers just don’t quit-
We’ve all this love inside our hearts, but what to make of it?
All fairy tales and sleeper films, whatever makes us cry
Will also keep us dreaming right until the day we die.

So come along, you have to know I’d never steer you wrong.
It’s not a well-kept secret that your life should be a song.
You’re just a nonbeliever, but you have to wonder now
How I can be so sure of love- well let me show you how.

The wind just fills those sails because it knows what it should do.
And it’s been waiting all this time to bring the truth to you.
This isn’t rags to riches; this is something far more real-
Just throw the past behind you and then tell me how you feel.

It’s honesty, surrender, with the breath of purest air-
Just look at me, the sender of the deepest loving care
That always watched you from afar and wished for what I could,
To give you all the love you are so life would be this good.
