Timing

Timing is Everything
A matter of seconds
makes all the difference

I was standing
waiting to cross the road
when a car blew through
a red light.

If I had gone at that
second, I would be dead.
He was speeding
and being very careless.

It struck me hard
in my gut,
that I was spared,
so now I must be grateful.

I stand tall,
filled with gratitude
thanking my God,
for his split second timing.

Many, many things are avoided by a split second which could have gone either way. Yep. I've been there. A number of times. Nice work, Ragno.

I had the same experience once up in San Francisco. I was in my car with my mother and sister, light turned green, I was not paying attention as I had been staring up into a window where people were doing yoga or something. When I finally realized the light had turned green (had been green for about 3-4 seconds) a car went speeding through the intersection and I had the same reaction. I turned to my mother and sister in the back seat and was like: do you realize what just happened? Chills....great piece RD.
