Life’s Complexity

Silvery dome encompassing the sky of darken grey
casting bleak shadows of despair upon the day
for in life’s challenges nature surely has it’s say
survival being our only option if we choose to stay.

The forces of nature are but conflict in time
but power and greed will bring down humanity
destroying the balance never even seeming to mine
creating illusions of wealth in a realm of calamity.

Life is but a single chance which passes in the night
choice of logic or of the heart will relieve the pain
surrounded by the darkness searching for the light
we stand weak and alone in the pouring rain.

Pastels of blue, encompassing the endless sky,
foaming waves pounding the beaches of sand,
tranquil forest of mystic green taunting why
feathery creatures chirping in the heavenly band.

Wonders of nature beckon to our delight,
blindly we wander never hearing a sound
caught up in a world of greed and fright,
sadly many miss that which is so profound.
