Shadows dance across the corridors of your mind,
conscious thoughts of things not yet put to rest,
lost in the mystical passages of endless time,
for life is but a physical, emotional, mindless test.
Never realizing the consequences of our actions,
always seeking excitement, thrills and fame,
the adrenalin rushes, the ultimate attractions,
for in our foolish youth, we’re anything but tame.
Timelessly searching for precious silver and gold,
restlessly we wander this land since our birth,
never really listening to the ancient stories told,
nor grasping the beauty and wonder of this earth.
Driven by the burning desire of wealth and power,
compromising the moral values upon which we live,
we create haunting sleepless nights, made to devour,
knowing subconsciously to find peace we must give.
Opening our hearts to the wonders nature provides,
will bring an inter peace to relieve the pain,
and end the haunting, the long sleepless divide,
for sharing brings warmth in the cold pouring rain.
