A salty mist permeated the sea air,
as white caps formed with each wave,
creating a bolting roar beyond compare,
below the cliffs was an opening to a cave.
Seagulls in flight shout a shrieking cry,
the surf hits the beach with its magical spell,
crisp air takes your breath when you sigh,
off in the distance a buoy rings its bell.
Vast and magnificent it captivates the soul,
creating a longing for the mystery of the sea,
but danger lurks upon the sea, taking its toll,
the engulfing power is not for the meek.
Primal essences such an awesome sight,
sun rising and falling across the ocean bed,
splendor radiates through the raging night,
such a tantalizing attraction, our spirt weds.
The ocean in its glory runs cold as stone,
yet emotions spark a wave that is torn,
as feelings of oneness release a moan,
life and death is but our mortal scorn.
