Haunting Nights


Days ends with the darkness of the night,
as a feeling of uncertainty chills the air,
for the future lies in the unforseen light,
a place yet to be ventured and shared.

Moon lit shadows dance in the gentle wind,
resembling ghostly figures of days gone past,
tossing and turning, waiting for day to begin,
haunting impressions excite us, but never last.

In darkness reliving the day within our mind,
decisions made, right or wrong, or just desire,
set in stone in the corridor of endless time,
never able to return to put out the lusting fire.

Overwhelmed in the still darkness of passion,
hearts wander in search, never finding rest,
consumed with desire never feeling compassion,
finding the truth of life itself, is the only test.

Each morning we awake, granted a new lease,
another chance to live, love, enjoy, and share,
for hearts that are open, will find the peace,
and the haunting will cease for those who care.
