Seldom Shared


Down through the ages of time,
some change, others stand still,
trapped in essence of one’s mind,
living and dying at society’s will.

Puppets frolicking upon a string,
preforming the task we are asked,
occasionally straying for a fling,
living and dying, nothing ever last.

Passive souls of power and might,
confronted by those of endless greed,
who shed our blood upon the site,
not understanding or seeing the need.

Survival is an act seldom shared,
in the heat of conflict, it is there,
one last chance if anyone dares,
anguish, from who knows where.

Striving for perfection, we roam,
peaks and valleys upon the way,
searching for the comfort of home,
forgetting to live life, this very day.
