The Secret

Constantly striving to survive,
taxing us at our best and worse,
yet through it all, we must decide,
decisions of life, our daily curse.

Your head gets stuck in a hole,
or you find yourself up a tree,
life situations, take their toll,
as you try to be, all you can be.

A speck in life’s playing field,
our happiness often shattered,
lost trust creates a mental shield,
the pain makes the spirit tattered.

Instances occur within a flash,
one second, your up in the tower,
suddenly, without warning you crash,
living life can be cruel and devour.

Wanting credit, maybe a promotion,
stumbling you fall, and often bleed,
finding the secret of love and devotion,
learning there is nothing else we need.
