Oh Mother Dear


Oh Mother Dear, oh Mother Dear,
precious moments when young,
in my heart you are forever near,
with thanks to you, my life begun.

A young woman you gave me birth,
guiding me in my childhood years,
you gave me a start upon this earth,
all the while wiping away my tears.

Living life is difficult to say the least,
always struggling to learn who we are,
you taught me how to find the peace,
I know in my heart you’re never far.

Thank you for the treasures life brings,
thank you for the love you freely give,
for you alone, taught me many things,
most of all, you showed me how to live.

I’m grateful to the Lord in Heaven above,
for you, my Mom, each and every day,
you’re there in my thoughts with love,
you and you alone, showed me the way.
