Consumed by Desire


Harmony exist only in dreams,
serene setting beyond compare,
a world with terror and screams,
such a challenge, an endless dare.

Sadly people hurt one another,
motivated, trying to get ahead,
not realizing it’s your brother,
for wealth, some end up dead.

It’s the same each passing day,
struggling to survive since birth,
for it appears to just be our way,
savage beings roaming the earth.

Lost in a maze of our illusions,
we forget the meaning of love,
besieged in moving confusion,
dreams hold the gift from above.

Consumed in life’s commotion,
repeating mistakes of the past,
never realizing love’s devotion,
finally discovering nothing last.
