Just The Weather


Rain drops falling from the dark sky,
flowing endlessly, down on this earth,
the reason of which, we know not why,
but the cleansing rain brings a new birth.

The wind howling in the towering trees,
branches breaking a destructive sight,
fury and power brings us to our knees,
ever fearful of Mother Nature’s might.

The temperature drops to frigid cold,
as we huddle by the fire’s warm glow,
the wild forces of nature can be so bold,
as the rivers rise and begin to over flow.

The dirt turns to mud beneath our feet,
helplessly, we look on in utter despair,
realizing we having nothing left to eat,
and the roof is leaking beyond repair.

The mighty thunder shakes the ground,
as white lightening strikes it’s fiery bolt,
forever consumes, no escape to be found,
fearing nature’s awesome powering jolt.
