Shadows reflecting in the light,
dancing across the eerie room,
ghostly figures of the cold night,
released from their eternal tomb.
The realm of another dimension,
or the mind’s own cloudy illusion,

laying still in a state of confusion.
Creaks and cracks sound so loud,
the heart begins to race and pound,

over here, and there, and all around.
As if the living dead have come alive,
their presence consumed by mortal fear,
wondering if this night you’ll survive,
afraid to breathe, wiping away the tears.
A mere victim of our own simple mind,
for that is where our reality can be found,
individual interpretation of passing time,
the fragile essences forgotten yet profound.
