Realm of Make Believe


The enchanted land of make believe,
escaping from one’ sorrow and pain,
a joyful place you don’t want to leave,
while you’re there, you make no gain.

A land of sugar plums and apple spice,
dancing upon the never melting snow,
a site where everyone seems oh so nice,
no questions, for everything, you know.

A wonderland of tribulation always near,
nestled safely in the corridors of the mind,
where laughter and cheer, hide all our fear,
as we frolic about in this place without time.

The rapture of fantasy, is only an illusion,
created to survive the hardships of the day,
sadly lost in our own set of mass confusion,
never knowing if we’ll ever find the way.

Back in reality lies all the questions of why,
but in this earthly world is our place to be,
for it is here we live and where we will die,
the tears, joys, and sorrow are all part of me.
