Clashing Concept


The sky so blue brighten by the morning sun,
upon the still water shadows cast a reflection,
within each new day another job is to be done,
nature in the backdrop with angelic perfection.

Traveling endlessly across the country miles,
far from your destination even when it’s near,
as we search for happiness and gentle smiles,
while we struggle to handle our earthly fears.

The hourglass of our time is steadily passing,
each second never to pause while time speeds,
nothing of this earthly land is forever lasting,
just wondering if anyone even hears our pleads.

In confusion our lives spent in constant motion,
where fantasying ideals and hopes fade in a blink
no more than a fleeting speck upon a vast ocean,
yet with anxiety we try to smile and give a wink.

Our lives are here today but then gone in a flash,
never really knowing the truth of what to believe,
for logic and emotion collide, create a mortal clash,
in the final end all we know is what we conceive.
