The brilliant colors seem to fade,
for comprehension we often lack,
the daylight turns to evening shade,
it soon to be dark, and ever black.
Our lives are like nurturing seeds,
drowning in the cold pouring rain,
searching to fulfill our basic needs,
bombarded with our emotional pain.
From birth our lives are in motion,
human desires in a spinning whirl,
an emptiness, as vast as the ocean,
survival is met with a constant peril.
Spirits consumed in heated passion,
sailing upon the unpredictable wind,
stopping to enjoy the latest fashion,
realizing we don’t know how to swim.
Wrong choices will cause us to break,
constantly struggling to take the lead,
for our lives consist of what we make,
never hearing history’s begotten pleads.
South Baltimore serves as the backdrop for this gripping story of three brothers leading very different lives but joined forever by the secrets of a painful family past.
