Fleeing Perspective


It must just be life’s way,
elusive passage of time,
growing old each day,
feeling young of mind.

Aging can be so deceptive,
a thing that can’t be healed,
more than one’s perspective,
consumed by youthful appeal.

Days quickly turn to night,
as we lay our head to rest,
aging is not a pretty sight,
but just another earthly test.

All the flowers wither, die,
as their colors slowly fade,
we never know reason why,
we’re lost in a vernal daze.

Love ones, we hold dear,
cherished moments of love,
just realizing the end is near,
we look to the heavens above.
