Morning Star

Gazing out upon a morning star,
light twinkling in the early dawn,
seemingly so close but yet so far,
in the lush meadow a lonely fawn.

It is the beginning of another day,
wishful thoughts and renewed hope,
wondering what will come our way,
each of us dream, just so we can cope.

For living life is as hard as it can be,
obstacles are thrown across our path,
to survive we must keep our spirit free,
as power and greed show their wrath.

The twinkling star instills our desire,
to stand firm even if we must fight,
the heart of living is a burning fire,
with peace and love always in sight.

So as we wish upon the star up high,
let’s give our thanks to the Lord above,
enjoying all the wonders before we die,
realizing the precious moments of love.

I love your new poem. It is so right. Most of us Wish Upon a Star, but few of us really give thanks to the Lord that created all. I so enjoy everything that I get to see in this life. Thank you for your poem.
