Survival Is


Once upon the morning light,
ready to start another new day,
feeling rested from the night,
hoping things will go my way.

Never knowing who we’ll meet,
whether they’ll be friend or foe,
yet each one of them we’ll greet,
on the way, down the road we go.

Life’s daily adventure is but a gift,
wandering the path’s magical flow,
some are helpful, giving us a lift,
others, cast us to the wind that blows.

Beauty of living is found in the heart,
of those who really know how to live,
love ones come together, never to part,
out of their goodness they forever give.

Survival is merely our state of mind,
misfortune appears in the cold dark,
been that way since the start of time,
life has never been a walk in the park.
