Meekly Bold

There are moments captured,

filled with joy and such pain,

creating some of life’s rapture,

or soak us in the pouring rain.

Decisions made in the dark,

random acts come our way,

nurturing the spirit of a lark,

just trying to survive the day,

No answers to what we seek,

in the complex world we live,

serenity belongs to the meek,

they grasp what it is to give.

All for the living not the dead,

constant struggle until you die,

found in the heart not the head,

truth and love, the reasons why.

Casting a stone across the pond,

the ripples one can often feel,

no such thing as a magic wand,

one’s actions can hurt or heal.

Sam, you are so truthful...our actions and words can open a wound for years or it can seal a hate to the bone. This poem kept me reading line after line in anticipation of what the end would be. Great!!
