Shadows Dance
Shadows dancing upon the wall,
from the flickering candle light,
darkness covering us, one and all,
muffled sounds heard in the night.
The eerie figures that do not speak,
haunting move in the amber glow,
scaring both the young and meek,
as the room fills with a chill flow.
Beneath the harvest moon lit sky,
are prancing and dancing illusions,
the dead spirits rarely wonder why,
perception turns to utter confusion.
Mystery lies in that we do not know,
captivated in deep thoughts we stare,
as the howling wind begins to blow,
reality lost here or is it over there?
Shadows fade with the morning sun,
as memories linger but do not last,
dust to ashes for the night is done,
never to return gone with the past.
