Rain Upon the Cedars
Raindrops fell upon the Cedar trees,
summer showers bring the warm rain,
the nettles drop as do the alder leaves,
washing away human sorrow and pain.
Clouds of darkness in shades of grey,
still cast shadows in the dim lit light,
upon life’s path we must never stray,
embracing courage never losing sight.
Puddles form upon the soaked ground,
spilling over as the river begins to rage,
if we are not careful, we might drown,
flash floods appear leaving us in a daze.
The smell of wet dirt rises from the earth,
just a reminder of what is and what was,
such mysteries overshadow us since birth,
for we never know why, only just because.
Drops of water from the Cedar trees does fall,
simple, calmly yet possessing nature’s power,
a constant reminder to each of us one and all,
the forces of nature at any second can devour.
