They call this America, the home of the brave and the free,
a land of cultural diversity comprised of many a rebel cause,
yet to the world it’s a place where many come to flee,
struggling amidst turmoil and violence without even a pause.
A nation of people consumed in their own wants and cares,
hustling about, striving to achieve beyond their basic needs,
self indulging lifestyles built on materialistic dreams of instinctive dares,
which suddenly ceases within the magnitude of dust as America bleeds.
Many within the world see but a misconception of our true identity,
for we are a caring people of intense pride and unforeseen unity,
who believe in profound ideals from which freedom chimes serenity,
a peaceful nation who, when bludgeoned, aren’t afraid to react punitively.
We are a family of brothers and sisters from all races and creeds,
standing tall in the midst of the rubble filled with tears of sorrow,
trying to grasp the harsh reality of such hatred and inbred breeds,
shaken but not torn apart, united to insure a better tomorrow.
The author is my DAD!! I am so proud of my dad the author. He has always been very patrotic to the USA. And has instilled the same in his children. Keep up the great work Dad.
