“Path of Life”

Pondering the direction of my life’s stay,
In amazement of the roads so far traveled,
was it destiny unfolding with each passing day,
or mere happenstance and chance unraveled.

The paths in life, directions and turns are many,
from hence we choose, for one reason or another to seek,
often blindly taken in search of wealth and plenty,
forgetting along the way our true needs and leading a bleak.

I’ve traveled multitudinous roads, some good, some bad,
I've learned from each along the forgotten way,
it’s not the fame and fortune which I had,
but rather it was the peace and happiness that fulfilled each day.

I’ve found from passing experience it’s the kindness that fulfills,
the truth and friendship, enhanced by trust and love,
which out weights the riches and adventurous thrills,
giving true meaning to life and all above.

The simplest acts abound in triumphant pleasure,
insignificant deeds of love and, yes forgiveness shown
compliments the soul beyond measure,
harmonizing one’s spirit to the everlasting throne.
