Just For Spite

Searing pain cuts each limb twice,
intended pain, echos through time.

Conjuring ghosts once locked away,
thoughts become words, careless escapes.

Ever wonder what price you've gained?

In disheveled chambers words remain.

Feeling good in front of your friends,
turned inside out, your stench does brim.

Faces mask, hell fire boiling deep inside,
eyes don't shine where evil resides.

Searing pain cuts each limb twice.

Once just because...twice just for spite.

Poignant verses. Great conclusion. May you have a great poetic year.

I can definitely relate to this write, Z. Verbal abuse is the most vicious form of it because it tears one down emotionally and mentally. You may not have physically killed someone, but you can leave them wishing you had.

Many people don't realize that verbal abuse is the most insidious form of abuse: it is seen neither coming nor going, yet one feels as though pummelled in the gut. Bruises will heal rather quickly, wounds of the mind take far, far longer. Excellent write, Zenith. ~~Bonnie Q
