Everywhere I go
There's a teenager who is pregnant
A young lady who seemed so innocent
All she wanted was to experience sexual pleasure
She didn't know the risk of giving up her treasure
There are pregnant teenagers in different places
I recognize some of them
I recognize their faces
Everywhere I go
There's a pregnant lady
It's sad to see a teenager with a baby
I guess she didn't know what
She was getting herself into
Now she is starting to realize that
Life as she know it is through
She now has to think about
Providing for herself and her baby
Because the world that we live in
Can get a little crazy
It's hard to survive young
And alone
With no place to go
No one to phone
When the father leaves you
It's hard to raise a baby
He abandons you
Because he's scared and lazy
Too lazy to take on responsibilty
Too much in denial to accept reality
Too afraid to step up
And be a man
But all he has to do is try
Just do what he can
Just be with her
Help her out
Tell her it will be all right
Try to eliminate doubt
Because inside of her is something precious
God's gift
A boost is what she needs
She needs a lift
Being alone is frightening
Being alone is scary
Don't shut her out
Stop being contrary
I hate to see a young sister cry
I hate to see her barely getting by
I hate to see her in pain
I hope to see her smile again
Young sister don't give in
God will see you through this
God will be by your side through thick and thin
Young sister
Hold your head up high
Stop questioning yourself
Stop asking why
Young sister
You are a black queen
In time you will realize
What I mean
