A Mistake?

7 long years ago, I nearly died. At a 'gate' I was met and was told to 'return to my life and write what you now know'. But, it hasn't been as easy as that sounds!! However, this is meant to be a poem with a touch of humour - a very valuable way to cope! I would not have changed my decision. I have a lot still to do as/when I fully recover -which I intend to do!

A Mistake?

At the 'gate', I made a decision

I returned to earth

My life to continue

I thought it had some worth

Yes, I have written poetry

A past life story told

But, in reality, I remain ill, and

Now find that I am old

I returned to exist

In varying degrees of pain

Added to breathless limitations

Relief, not mine to gain

I have many useless plans

Dreams that shine, then fade

Inevitable cancellations to

Arrangements eagerly made

The worst, I feel forgotten

By those the order gave

'Go back, you have work to do'

I have tried to be so brave

But, then, I could have died

After many years of pain

I must have made a big mistake

As I'll have to do it all again

God has a plan for you Audrey and it's certainly not for you to focus on your pain. Gather what strength you have and help others in need and your pain will still be there but it will seem much more tolerable. These are not my words but words from a friend. I pray that you fell better soon.

Peace, love and blessings,

John Michael

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
