When watching a TV programme the other day one character said he didn't know how to help someone he loved through a hard time. The advice he was given was "don't try and fix him, just support him". Great advice for anyone who is helping a loved one through a hard time and is not sure what to do to help.
Sometimes the right words are hard to find
but its ok to listen, I don't mind
sometimes its hard to know what to do
but you know, its just good to be with you
Sometimes its hard to know if I need space
but I'll let you know if thats the case
sometimes through tears I can no longer see
and then a hug is the most help to me
Sometimes I know that I'm not myself
but please don't put me up on a shelf
sometimes when the pain is hard to bare
I just need to know that somebody's there
