On a lonely beach
Receding waves, blackened under heavy clouds
Wash ashore and chase off tiny crabs
Tree trunks, broken plastic toys
Things both men and nature reject
Are like orphans left behind
High tides of life
Spill moments of joy, pain and misery
Leaving sentimental remnants
May there be a day
Of thundering white waves
Bringing a happy return to
Pristine clarity

Wished you could leave the here and now and go to that place.
Great write.
And one day, in the not too distant future,
ALL beaches will be pristine again.
I remember once about 27 years ago, I befriended the front desk clerk at the hotel I was staying at in Martinique. I didn't speak French so he took me around the island. One day we went to a private, totally secluded beach far away from people, roads, and seemingly civilization. You poem just reminded me of that day. I have never seen a beach like that since. It was pristine.
Thanks and good to see you again Franz. ~ Sara
Pristine clarity"
Oh, yes! Good poem. A reflection on things as are, and as we wish them to be. Loved that ending.
