A reflection on a legal and illegal tender
Jingling gold coins in a tobacco box Green papers exchanged on a parking lot Golden plastic is received with a sparkling smile Numbers running through wires and miles Some spend it for chocolate, others for guns It pulses in Wallstreet, the winner has won They call it 'religion of choice' in many lands As tasty food rubs digestive glands Sucked from trees, mountains, and slaves that are sold It's a black stinky stuff pumped from the Arctic cold It squeezes with joy through Mickey's pleasure parks And explodes over Bagdad, with a thousand sparks. We love it/ we hate it/we need it/it loves us/ it hates us/ We even kill for it or hammer & nail anyone onto the cross. Money is humanity's lifeblood. Does it belong to God? Does it belong to the Devil? Could it be a Joint Venture with two major shareholders? (c) 2004 by Franz L Kessler

Interesting last sentence. Money is here to stay and yet, it diffinately is not an equal oppertunity venture! Nice poem, Franz.

Money is a test of balance. If one can use it without greed, one has found the balance. Great Write! Its taken me a lifetime to come to the thought I shared with you. I use to think that money was the root of all evil, until I noticed an angel using it to help others. My friends in Ohio have been a great influence! :-)
