You are reeling from the wreckage,
Sore and wounded from the blast
Crawl away from the rubble,
The failures of the past.
Only one path leads to healing,
Christ the Righteous intervenes.
By the laundry of His Blood
The Judge declares you clean.
“But I caught her red-handed!”
cries Satan in his stench.
“The point is moot, I have bought her,”
States the Defense.
“I object, it isn’t fair,”
gripes the demon with a groan.
Thunder roars from the chair
Of the Judge:
“Leave her alone!
You had your chance once,
Now she has come to Me.
Her crimes have been removed,
Flung into the sea.”
“But she’ll slip and fall,I know it,”
Whispers Satan in his glee.
Fear scrapes the defendant;
Then the Two become Three.
The Judge and Advocate
Call a Counselor of Power.
Our Emissary fills
the woman from this hour.
Do you feel the wind?
The Spirit’s in this court.
He’ll attend to the defendant,
Protect her like a fort.
A restraining order reigns.”
Satan melts away.
Hug and handshakes all around,
This your liberation day.
Then you go to thank the jury,
And suddenly you know,
It’s peopled with angels,
The room reflects their glow.
They’re clapping, singing,
And shaking tambourines.
An awed feeling conquers;
You know what this means.
“This trial was rigged,
You planned it all along,”
You say to the Father
And His Advocate Son.
“We’re in the business
of emptying the jail.
Our clients trust us
We’re God. How COULD we fail?”
“And I’ll never go to prison?
They won’t arrest me again?”
And you shudder to remember
the shame and the pain.
The escort you from the courtroom
And you join the Undefiled,
By secretive collusion:
You’ve become the Judge’s child.
God Bless
