My Dear Renee

In an effort to create new characters for my next book, I am stepping into this cowboys boots who wants to write songs for Nashville. Unfortunately his songs just miss the mark, but I am having lots of fun creating the songs for him. This is song 3 of 10 that I will write in the next few months. Apologies to you song writers out there.
Song 1 = She's Gone. Hooray!!
Song 2 = Don’t Let the Door Hit Your Rear
Song 3 = My Dear Renee

Poker or poke her, it came down to this
What's more important I'm sure being dissed
Friday night poker has got in the way
Of bonding and loving my woman Renee.
We argued for hours about playing those cards
She done broke my mirror, it now lays in shards
It's all for the boys they expect me to play
but I really should be bonding with my lovely Renee.
I came home last weekend, three sheets to the wind
I slept it off all day and went out again
Her efforts to stop me just turned to delay
As I sneered in the face of my lovely Renee.
She hid all my boots to prevent my escape
I found my old sneakers behind some old drapes
I snuck out the window and much to my dismay
My truck had four flats from my dear dear Renee.
I hitched a ride, from my buddy named Chuck
I left the game early because of bad luck
It was time to make up in a sweet loving way
to my dear lovely woman, my precious Renee.
I bought her some flowers and candy she likes
Her clothes were all gone and so was her bike
She left me a note as it started to say
Games over my dear, signed your ignored Renee.
I admit to be a country music fan! This particular write has something really going for it! Look forward to reading more of your work.

My name is becca henry and I am a Fun loving Second year Music major! It is my Second Bachelor's degree. I took about 10 years off to fight a terminal illness. I am now 34 years old. If you do not mind, let me print this out, and then play it on my piano, till I get the notes right,ok? I compose music the old-fashioned way, paper and a pencil, with a piano of course! It is the only way to go!
I already have a theme in mind for your song, and all.
