I never had the writer’s block.
Too many thoughts moored at my dock.
Ideas and dreams come way too easy
some are smart, while others cheesy.
I often wonder why writers cry
they can't think of, the how or why
their stories or their poems stop
in midstream, with an empty drop.
There are ways to battle this.
Exchange dark moods for writer's bliss.
Look around and expand your vision
watch reruns of television.
Watch TV without the sound.
Pretend to write the script profound.
Movie summaries can lend a thought
to new ideas that can be sought.
Listen to some oldie’s songs
hear the words of right and wrongs.
Love and joy the words are there
to inspire you with thoughts to share.
Farmer’s market, ask them questions
Attend a class, take some lessons.
Find a bench and let time fly
Create your characters as they walk by.
See your library right in town.
Read old magazines in quiet sound.
Go to a racetrack but do not bet.
Watch the others cheer and fret.
Don’t tell me you’re out of words.
Go city surfing, check out the burbs.
Writer’s block goes away real fast.
Reread this poem and get off your ass.

are those who have read the masters and are wannabe's so they
act just like them to feel authentic;-) I think the real problem
is sometimes needing a break, because you can't decide which
subject to use there are so many!
Enjoyed this one....ty, Dani
This may just be the pep talk that will turn this silence around for me.

And as for the "block", I have gotten it, but seems I write it away, a story or poem about it makes me well again...this was a fun read, and a right read, those that really get it should read this...enjoyed you str8 forwardness...Find Peace, Ed & Rufuz
