Who will mourn my death
When all is said and done.

When all the words are spoken
And all the hymns are sung.

When I am covered from head to toe
With earth and dirt and sand.

When I am finally laid to rest
And no longer walk this land.

Who will mourn my death
Will it be only me?

Or just some old friends that I knew
Or just my family?

Or maybe my ashes will just take flight
Like specs upon the wind.

And land into the eye of someone
Who is neither friend nor kin.

And when I finally happen into
The eye of someone other.

Than a friend or someone that I knew
A brother, child, or mother.

Will then that be the only eye,
That sheds a tear for me?

Just tell me who will mourn my death,
And all I came to be?
