Behold what lies a pen will tell:

That tortured souls are doing well,

Things lost are really a man’s gain,

That broken hearts will somehow mend.

The insincere placate the bold

Mending their wrongs by lies they’ve told.

But worse the lies we tell our brains

To cover self-inflicted pains.

Oh, Wow, Lonny! I'm with Ted.. this is focused, insightful and a most honest rant! You've held up a mirror.. I see so many reflections. Why is it we understand this so well in others', conveniently ignoring it in ourselves? This is a damned fine piece of writing, my dear friend. love, katy xox.

I think the moment you start to lie to yourself....you are sick.....what is the good in that?
I never lie....I just twist the truth a little...hehehehehe!!

"Behold What Lies" is striking!

I have enjoyed the reading.

I would consider a revision for the closing line. I feel it needs more energy for a closing.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
