Where does it come from
these sounds I hear
the music to my ear
the song to my heart
it comes
rolling like thunder
like a big surprise
A merry little token
in disguise.
Happy
lilting
tinkle tunes
makes me giggle
in unmuted happiness
messaged whispers in my ear
and I melt right here.
I think it comes from the kitchen. For some reason, every time I find a woman in the kitchen, she breaks into song that's been percolating in her head. Perhaps it's the smell or anticipation of food that brings on this wonderful sentimentality.
