              ~As the Rooster Crows~

 

               A life of follow the leader 

        ever wonder what lies ahead 

        in the power of ill got gaines

        and losses not to have

 

            ~As the rooster crows, so
      should we~

 

      Thine own self be true
      walk the line head held high 
      making a difference 
      one by one adding
      up to many for freedom 
      of thoughts wrought

A fine sentiment, if we all made a difference how good the world would be for us ordinary folks and how miserable it would be for the rest.

So goes the hens? I'm sorry, but I just had to write it! ;-)

I gather there is strength in numbers. Although I'm not sure they can all get across that stream safely.

This piece feels like an anthem to optimism. Very strong positive language "ill got gaines" and "losses not to have." I like "making a difference/one by one adding," for that illustrates how each matters. And "...freedom/of thoughts wrought" just sings of the power of poetry. Thank you. ~~ Diana

i sense a parallel to your previous
'of Purity' - not a companion piece
but a parallel; this is more direct,
more assertive
