My Stolen Joy

Today's the day I lost my smile and that will never cease,

no matter what the future holds my heart has lost its peace.

All songs have lost their meaning and my ears will hear no more,

Instead I'll sit in silence staring only at the door.

I have no need for food or drink for they now have no taste,

so what's left sat upon my shelves can all just go to waste.

I dare not enter in the room where we laid side by side,

because our dreams they haunt me and from them I cannot hide.

The sky will be forever grey, my mood forever blue,

I cannot even contemplate a life that has not you.
