Dedicated to: Febe Sue my little Yorkshire Terrier, my friend, my foot warmer, and my tear catcher if she was called upon. She was beautiful, I pray her spirit lives on.........

Poem Artwork

You was always so soft and silky Black, golden and gray

You came to me after getting lost one day

I was asked to dog sit you

until others could move

into a home where you would eventually stay

Little button nose was always cold

round little eyes missed not a thing

I spoiled you it was not your fault

no dog food for you

You sat and waited patiently on me

then whined for my dinner plate upon which you ate

You was so timid and spooked at most everything

You barked enough to beat any band

before you ran and jumped up in my hands

Several months past and when I thought

it was about that time at last

I was elated when they said

Keep her you've spoiled her to bad

She would never be happy with what she had

You slept with me every night

Slinkered down tucking your body in close

it all worked out just fine except that cold little nose

At the crack of dawn you would

Stretch and yawn

Then you began to dig me out

You would lick my toes

and work your way up to my nose

until you had me up

you was such a silly lovin pup

I took you with me

so afraid to leave you home

you sure did love the ride

Sitting up like a good girl

right up on my shoulder

next to my right eye

Night before we were to leave

I made you go outside to pee

You was always so bashful

and I was in pain

so I watched you walk around alone

I could tell you really wanted to go home

You hated a leach and refused a drop a drip

I was always so afraid that you would get lost

on you’re little potty trips

You walked behind the van

I began to call out your name

But you never came

We looked and looked

Only a few minutes

is all it took

I'm so very sorry little girl

I wouldn't have had you hurt

for all the world

You had walked out into the street

A car found you there

no sounds of brakes

no horns were honked

no swerve to miss

your little blond head

75-80 is quite a speed

and it took you away from me

I cried for hours

and still call your name

some tears still drip

I wish I had just left you home

I ask myself now did she really

need to go on that trip?

I miss you so much my

little animal pal

and I'll see you again after awhile

This is a most loving tribute to a dear friend. My sympathy, Tina. Thank you for sharing this. Love and peace to you.

Totally heartbreaking and you had me gulping at every line, Tina. I am sure she would have known nothing about this impact and had the pleasure of being in your company, giving and receiving love until her very final moment. No PERSON could wish for more, let alone our "best-friends-in-non-human-form". Let the tears fall and know that she licks each and ever one, as always, from the face that she held most dear in all the world. She curls forever at your feet and in your heart in absolute peace and contentment. Ever yours. Bless you in your necessary grieving and may her light shine in and around you at this time to lighten the darkness. LOL Kate xx

So terribly sorry for your loss, Tina, and I know this pain far too well. But Febe Sue Will live on in your heart and soul forever, and hopefully, we will all see these most wondrous loving furry friends of ours again.
