In Poetic Justice

Your anger announced by a fist
slammed against my face

In my hand, I write of blue topaz tears
and flowers crushed beneath hot stones

No good fool!, you shout
worthy of nothing!, you say of me

In the darkness of my heart, a verse of
gold filled beauty on satin paper, emits my hand

You say I'll be lost and lonely without you

With trembling fingers, I write of a rose, withering,
without water, on a dusty sheft

You say no man deserves so little as I can give

My pen weaves of a paradise,
found only in my loving arms

You left me with bad memories
and stains of grief upon my soul

but I found a sweet release from the hurt
you left, I found a love inside myself

And I painted over the torn canvas you made
with words to smooth, and colors to soothe

I confess of you, I rebuke you!

Without malice , but in poetic justice!

I have had people tell me that all of my life. But today, I found a new inner strength, a new determination, and it is all female. My fiance loves me, my friends love me for who I am and accept me, my family, accepts me for who I am and loves me too. This is a very decent piece, and sooo true too. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your friend in Wisconsin, and sister in Christ our Lord, Barbie

Thnx for the reviews Denise, I really appreciated every one of them.

Wow, this was powerfully penned, beautifully done, something so many need to feel...the strength of their own beauty within, not of what their abusers made them feel.

"In Poetic Justice" is a beautiful write in that it's image although talking and telling of abuse also offers up hope that there can be alife after and offers hope to those who may be in a similiar situation. Well done Denise and thank you for sharing your pain.

Good piece of poetry, and good piece of personal achievement. Would that the word could get out, that women do not have to stay in an abusive relationship. Henry
