My heart flys away

As I walk, I smell the smoke from a cigar
My mind flys far away, in another part of the world
smoke is smelled by a little girl
as her village is burned and pillaged

As I walk, I feel the heat from the midday
summer sun
Afar off, a small boy feels the heat of bombs
expolding among his family and friends

As I walk, my feet hurt from shoes not yet broken in
From a distance, a child cries because her bare feet hurt
from shoes she never had, torn and blistered

As I walk, I look to the horizon and see the sun
as it meets the shoreline of the oceans majestic waters

In another land, a child sips from tainted, polluted waters
of a river that's dead, without the dreams it once carried abroad

As I walk about my comfort zone, my world of music
and abundant goods, of colors designed by hand
and my clothes that I wear just for style,
I stop and kneel and say a prayer
for, my heart flys far, far away, though my feet stay put

And I ask God to take my prayer to these, far away
That I cannot see, but I am aware of everyday, as I go on

As I walk, I am  here, but my heart flys far, far away
and I pray that atleast one small one can feel me there

Beautiful spirit and beautiful prayer... and the beauty of prayer is that YES, your and it's presence WILL be felt by someone, somewhere... and, hopefully, by more than one, if the hundredfold blessing is in operation. May your own beauty fly back to bless you, too... you "late-bloomer"! Pleased to meet you and loved your bio. Thanks for your visit to my page today. Kate x

For sure, Denise. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrified sister, Barbie

A compassionate offering, Denise. It is impossible to "enjoy" oneself as long as one knows the suffering of another. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt offering. Love and peace to you. Regis

A poem of inspired and deeply felt compassion for the plight of children everywhere. It is so sad that we live in such times yet thank god for a creator who can restore and make beautiful again
one day! Splendid poem Denise!thank you!

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
