What do YOU see in the dark?

It's velvety softness engulfs me
in phases of entensity
and takes me to a quiet place
where I can sink inside myself
It owns the secrets of all

I walk about in its presence
sifting through curtain after curtain
of my whims , that I shall thread
into a song or verse, a prose
from that still place behind the shutters
of my eyelids, where darkness lives

Its weighted cloak is filled
with the mysteries and fantasies
born of Intellects of our time

I see through its solidness
and revel in its silentness
It moves the shadows to dance by firelight
and causes the moon to shine silvery bright

It embraces me in quiet rapture
it reveals the fireflys I chase and capture

I reach out and grasp its unseen fingers
and dance with a blind silhouette
to the music of shadows

Great things will be born in daylight
that could only be conceived
in the darkness of night

Things observed in the darkness of the dream-mind are always born out in the daylight. Interesting verses of how the mind can quietly cause us to rethink our direction and move into zones that can literally change our perspectives.
