BELIEF.
What do I believe, do I need belief?
Where is God in this world of woe and grief,
Can I exist without a faith to give me strength
To help me to survive, each days length.
All around me I hear the cries of those who proslytise,
You must be saved for after life, accept it now if you are wise,
Be baptised, speak in tongues, seek Nirvana, free love reigns,
So many creeds, so many isms, each one with the promise of immortal gains.
Is there truth amongst this babel, how do I find my peace of mind?,
Do I look for that still small voice that I seek to find,
That promise d peace to sooth my soul and make me whole,
Deep in my inner heart I know I need this problem to resolve.
In quiet moments I ponder this dilema, I know my need,
I also know there are so many who would rush to offer me a creed,
Guarranteed to entitle me to eternal life, if only I accept,
A blind belief in what they preach, no matter how inept.
