For the ghosts in my room...

The face on the clock has eyes that glow,
What time it is I likely don't know.
But then the clock strikes half past one,
And now the haunting has just begun.

I awaken from the startling noise,
To hear what sounds like machine gun toys.
I turn on the light to see what's there,
And I see things flying everywhere.

Every night I'm awakened at half past one,
As strange happenings have just begun.
I feel the covers being tugged off my bed,
And oh there's something floating overhead.

I cannot sleep I’m awake with fear,
As I sense something is quite near.
Whatever is there I cannot see,
But it keeps on taunting me.

I hear clanking and clunking sounds,
Fear is mounting by leaps and bounds.
Now I feel something touching me,
I close my eyes I don’t want to see.

Then all the sudden the clock strikes two,
Everything stops I think they’re through.
Now the face on the clock no longer does glow
I hope that means they’re done with the show.

They thought the many and varied horrors of war held no more surprises. They were dead wrong.
