I live in the country and so when I work in my garden, occasionally, there are dead critters around. And even though I cannot (at times) see them the smell permeats the air all around. So, this morbid poem came to mind.

My garden of life holds no sound,
Of the teaming death around.
There are no moans there are no sighs,
There are no hello's or good-byes.

The only death that you can tell
Is by the rotten stinking smell.
There is no love there was no prayer
For the dead that are lying there.

And with each day that passes by,
Another one yet comes to die.
I look around for a clue,
To see if any that I knew.

My eyes shutter to see such a sight,
And all I want is to close them tight.
My heart screams, as it’s so blue
To see all the living I once knew.

My brain is pounding the pain is great,
I think by god it’s now too late.
I think that I shall say good-bye,
As it is now my turn to die.

And now my garden holds no sound,
Of the teaming life around.
There are no moans there are no sighs,
There are no hello's only good-byes.

Hello Fawn

The cicle of life is in your garden. The saddness diminshes when you realise it was with you that they wished to share their garden life. That's why we must save the plantet, for it is not only ours.

Good Bye Miller
Best wishes fellow clansman!

I hadn't thought of this, though I see dead birds etc. in my own garden at times.
