I wondered why a lonely tear
ran warmly down my cheek
I thought a moment then realized
things were looking mighty bleak.

It was for my broken heart
though I had jumped the gun
I thought there would be much more
then just some casual fun.

I thought some more then figured out
things aren't always what they seem
perhaps there was more to this
then what I cared to dream.

So then I thought I'd wait awhile
to see what might take place
then that tear went away
and a smile was in its place.
